Texture & Colour in Our Garden

This will be a bit left field for people that read this blog. But as well as loving the Internet, blogging and podcasting I love photography. I would not call myself a serious photographer or anything. I just find it relaxing and fun. This afternoon I came home from work and decided to take a few photos around the garden.

We live in the tropics and we have put a lot of work into our garden. It contains so many colours, textures and varieties I decided to try to bring some of that out in a series of photos that I put up on Flickr.

What I did was try to concentrate on texture and colour. I think the photos are not to shabby actually. I put lots of descriptions in to explain what the photos are of and/or why I took it. It was fun to do and publish. If you are interested take a look at my Flickr page.

Updated “About” Page

Rooster Image EmailJust to let everyone know that I have updated my “about” page and I like it better.

I have been under a pit of pressure to have a go at changing my about page. Admittedly the previous iteration was thrown together not long after coming to WordPress. A lot has happened since then so I decided to update it.

I have been blogging for about a year now and so that was a bit of motivation for me to change a few things. I guess it also answers a few questions that people might have about me. I have also included links to other things that I do or are associated with.

I think the page is a little more rounded now and I think it reflects how I feel about blogging and what I am doing and what I am trying to accomplish. I think the “feel” thing is important, because unless you are passionate about something then it isn’t going to be as effective as if you were. I am by nature a passionate person and believe in both my ideas and opinions. Ask anyone that I have had an argument with! I can argue for something I know is wrong and have the other person believing it. I am not sure that is a good thing but it does reflect the passion of the person.

Enjoy the new page and for new visitors have a look and learn more about The Rooster. A nick that doesn’t seem to be that popular on the Internet and by which I am becoming known. Not sure that’s a good thing either. But it kind-of fits and I like it. So call me Dave or The Rooster and drop a comment here and there, bloggers love it and it gives them purpose.
